76 education devt projects worth RM4.16 billion rolled out across Sarawak

KUCHING, Sept 5: A total of 76 education development projects with an overall cost of RM4.16 billion are being implemented and have been completed in Sarawak under the supervision of the Education Branch of the Ministry of Works.

According to TVS, Deputy Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan, said that of this total, 14 projects are currently at the planning stage with an allocation of RM1.87 billion, while five projects worth RM311.36 million are in the procurement phase.

“A total of 30 projects are actively being implemented at a cost of RM1.51 billion, while one project is undergoing a re-tendering process after procurement. In addition, 26 projects worth RM469.07 million have been fully completed,” he said.

He stated this after conducting an official working visit to SMK Engkilili in Lubok Antu today to inspect the ongoing project to construct new classrooms, a hostel, and various other facilities.

He added that the total value of education development projects that are being and have been implemented now reaches RM4,162,982,087.89, proving the government’s continuous commitment to strengthening education infrastructure in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
