“Police personnel, together with a medical team from Sibu Hospital, rushed to the location. Further checks confirmed that the victim had died at the scene,” he said in a statement today.

The deceased, a local man, was believed to have been renting the room alone.

Initial examination revealed no signs of physical injuries on the body, and no criminal elements were detected at the scene.

“The body has been sent to the Sibu Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death,” he added.

The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR) for now, and further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, police are urging the public not to make assumptions or spread speculation regarding the incident out of respect for the victim’s family. — DayakDaily
