KUCHING, Apr 15: A viraled notice for a three-day total lockdown in Sarawak from April 17-19 has been described a fake news by chairman of Sarawak Disaster Management Committee Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

ā€œFake,ā€ Uggah said when asked by DayakDaily to comment on the notice via WhatsApp.

In the notice entitled ā€œ3 days of total lockdown challengeā€ among others mentioned that there will be no groceries shopping, no pumping gas at gas station, no ATM lines, no cars on the road, no ke sana ke sini and just stay at home.

The notice ended with a message, ā€œFor all Sarawak people. We can do this. For Covid-19 to go away, it starts with us staying at homeā€.

However, Uggah hopes that the people will continue to adhere to the MCO which has been extended to April 28.

ā€œStay safe, stay at home,ā€ he advised.ā€”DayakDaily
