KUCHING, Feb 13: A 70-year-old man was killed in an accident that occurred at Kampung Lintang Baru, Batu 28 Kuching–Serian Road, Serian, today.
In a report by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 2.52pm. and firefighters from the Serian station were deployed.
It was reported that the accident involved a Proton Saga carrying two passengers and a driver, which skidded off the road and into a drain.
An elderly male victim was trapped in the driver’s seat and was unconscious. The two passengers—an elderly individual and a child—sustained injuries but were not trapped and were transported to the hospital.
The operations team carried out extrication works to remove the driver from the vehicle using Road Traffic Accident (RTA) rescue equipment and a stretcher.
The driver, identified as Then Let Fui, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health (personnel and was subsequently handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
