7-year-old still missing after falling into Sg Passin

KUCHING, Sept 18: A total of six boats have been deployed for the search of a 7-year-old boy who went missing at Sungai Passin, Daro on Friday.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon when the boy fell into the river. Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) had been contacted and Search and Rescue (SAR) for the missing boy had been activated.


According to the statement from the State BOMBA Operation Centre, it was said that the SAR Operation on Friday was joined by Marine Police together with the villagers. A boat from BOMBA and two boats from Marine Police had been deployed aided with three boats from the villagers.

‘Water Surface Searching’ methods were used during the search along Sungai Passin with an estimated radius distance of 1KM upstream and downstream.

The victim is yet to be located and the search was postponed at 4pm. — DayakDaily
