KUCHING, Sept 19: The 7-year-old boy reported missing after he fell into the river was found dead by the fisherman at Kampung Suwai at midnight.
Search and Rescue (SAR) had been activated by the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA), joined by Marine police and also the villagers, after he fell into Sungai Passin, Daro on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the statement from the State BOMBA Operation Centre, the boy was found by fishermen 4 kilometers away from the scene where the boy was reported missing. Marine police reached the scene first to wait for the arrival of the BOMBA members as there is limited radio network coverage in the area.
The operation ended at 10.30am and the deceased body was handed over to the police for further investigation. – DayakDaily
