7 schools in Spaoh receive RM75,000 for Covid-19 fight

BETONG, July 20: Seven schools in Spaoh received grants from the state government totaling RM75,000 to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The schools are SMK Spaoh (RM15,000), SK Spaoh (RM10,000), SJKC Chung Hua (RM7,000), SK Suri (RM15,000), SK Nanga Gayau (RM5,000), SK Paku Sentral (RM8,000) and SK Nanga Tiga (RM15,000).

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas presented the grants to the six primary schools and one secondary school yesterday as the schools prepare themselves for the upcoming school session (Third Phase) amidst the current Covid-19 pandemic.


According to Uggah, the grants would be used, amongst others, to buy more thermometers and set up proper hand washing areas at the respective schools.

Uggah who is Bukit Saban assemblyman also stressed on the need for the school authorities to implement all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to create a safe environment for students, teachers and staff to learn and work in.

He asserted that the third phase of school reopening will be conducted soon, involving students from Primary One to Primary Four. — DayakDaily
