KUCHING, Oct 23: Seven local men have been arrested for involvement in illegal cockfighting activity in Sri Aman.
According to Sri Aman police chief DSP Mathew Manggie in a statement yesterday (Oct 22), the suspects aged between 37 to 82-years-old, were nabbed in a palm oil plantation near Jalan Melugu Skim during Ops Dadu conducted at 3.20pm.
“Police also seized a few items and equipment believed to be used for the illegal activity at the location,” he said.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 73 (1) (g) of the Public Health Veterinary Ordinance 1999. — DayakDaily
