KUCHING, July 29: The sixth edition of the Kuching South City Council’s (MBKS) ‘Mayor’s Walk’ is set to return on August 18 and is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants.
Speaking during a press conference today, MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the flag-off will start at 7am at Jalan Canna Lily Boulevard at the MBKS headquarters.
According to Wee, registration is free, and 10,000 t-shirts will also be provided to the participants on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
“The event will start with a brief Zumba warming-up session at 6.30am followed by the Mayor’s Walk at 7am.
“It is a multi-faceted event that not only promotes physical health but also strengthens community ties, supports local economies, and fosters a sense of civic pride and environmental responsibility,” he added.
On the same note, Wee also thanked the sponsors, namely Ibraco Berhad, 38 Yayasan Amal Cinta, Kuching Love Book Association, Sarawak Energy Sdn Bhd, BWCJ (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (CHAGEE), Citi Jogger’s Club, and Premier Echo Sound and Light System Sdn Bhd for their support in making the event possible.

After that, tap on the ‘Event’ module to reach the digital registration form for ‘Mayor’s Walk 2024’. For existing users, they need to update their application on their own devices first.
