KUCHING, Feb 10: A 60-year-old man was killed when his Toyota Hilux was crushed by a cement truck on Jalan Deshon near Rosli Dobi in Sibu today.
According to PBK I Yaakub Adanan, firefighters from the Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) responded promptly, but initial efforts to free the trapped driver were unsuccessful.

“A privately-owned crane was brought in to lift the cement truck but also failed, and a second crane was requested to assist,” he said in a statement today.
The victim, identified as Ting Teck Kee, was eventually extracted from the vehicle but was pronounced dead by health authorities at the scene.
The case has been handed over to the police for further investigation. — DayakDaily
