SERIAN, May 7: Sixty dogs in Kampung Resak and Kampung Bugu Mawang were vaccinated during an anti-rabies vaccination programme on Friday (May 5).
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), 10 dogs from Kampung Resak were vaccinated while the remaining 50 were from Kampung Bugu Mawang.
The programme which was carried out from 10am until 12.30pm, was organised by Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit (UPKS) in collaboration with Immune Belt Enforcement Team (IBET).
UKPS representative Steve Evan said the anti-rabies vaccination programme has been carried out in 41 villages under his area of responsibility, from Tarat constituency up to Kampung Marau since February.
“Our team will continue this vaccination programme in 9 more villages from May 8 to 12, including the organisation of awareness briefings, distribution of brochures and face masks.
