KUCHING, June 16: Sarawak recorded six new Covid-19 deaths today, with half of them being brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement disclosed that Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) reported four cases, while Bau and Mukah had one each, bringing the cumulative death tally to 364.
The 359th death involved a 68-year-old from Kuching who was BID and later tested positive for the virus on June 13. He had diabetes.
Another death in Kuching, a 45-year-old who had comorbidities of high blood pressure, heart, diabetes and dislipidemia was also BID to SGH. He tested positive for Covid-19 on June 14.
In Bau, a 76-year-old with no comorbidities was also BID and tested positive on June 14.
Another death with no comorbidities was a 50-year-old man from Kuching, who tested positive on May 27.
Another case involved a 73-year-old with high blood pressure, heart, diabetes, dislipidemia and kidney failure.
Over in Mukah, a 59-year-old who tested positive on June 14 suffered from comorbidities of high blood, heart, diabetes and kidney failure.
Meanwhile, Sarawak also reported 570 new Covid-19 cases today.
Kuching recorded the most cases with 98 followed by Mukah (92); Sibu (82); Bintulu (46); Song (31); Sri Aman (31); Miri (25); Sarikei (23); Pakan (23); Serian (23); Matu (21) ; Kapit (16); Bau (15); Tatau (10); Lundu (7); Telang Usan (4); Tanjung Manis, Kanowit, Marudi, Bukit Mabong and Selangau (3 each); Tebedu and Beluru (2 each); Julau, Meradong, Asajaya dan Samarahan (1 each).
Cumulatively, the number of cases in the state now stands at 57,475. — DayakDaily
