MIRI, September 14: Four boys and two girls were among 70 illegal immigrants arrested during “Ops Libas” mounted by the General Operation Force (GOF) here yesterday (Sept 13).
A total of 85 GOF personnel and immigration officers went to two oil palm plantations in Kuala Baram during the 1am operation. The offences of those nabbed included overstaying, no valid documents and misuse of work permits.
Of those arrested, 68 committed offences under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, while two were under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
They have all been handed over to Miri Immigration Department for further action. — DayakDaily
