5th edition of Malaysia Urban Forum 2023 in Kuching expected to attract 5,000 participants

KUCHING, Nov 2: The fifth edition of the Malaysia Urban Forum (MUF) 2023, to be held in Kuching, is expected to attract approximately 5,000 participants, according to Deputy Minister of Utility and Communication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

As of now, around 2,000 participants have already registered for the forum.


“Participation for this forum is free and open to all. So all ministries, departments, agencies, students and members of the public are welcome to participate through the registration platform that has been prepared,” he told a press conference held at Kuching North City Council (DBKU) headquarters here today.

Malaysia Airlines is offering a 20 per cent discount on flights to Kuching for the forum period, and Grab is offering a RM3 discount on every reservation made during the MUF2023 event to Pustaka Sarawak and Hikmah Exchange Event Center (HEEC).

“MUF2023 is also working with our partner hotels to provide cheap accommodation prices such as UCSI Hotel Kuching, Cove 55, Damai Lagoon Resort, Damai Beach Resort, Hotel Grand Continental, Imperial Hotel, The Meritin Hotel and The Limetree Hotel.

“In addition, AirBnb is also a partner sponsor of cheap accommodation for MUF2023 participants,” he said.

Touted as the largest sustainable development conference event, the forum is scheduled to run for five days from Nov 4 to 8 at Pustaka Sarawak and HEEC. — DayakDaily
