KUCHING, May 25: A total of 5,867 media personnel from 144 registered media agencies nationwide will get their Covid-19 vaccinations in the near future, said the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
He said the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) in collaboration with the National Information Department (Japen), Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) and media associations in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, have compiled a namelist of media personnel.
“The CITF will schedule appointments for the media practitioners as soon as possible after it has received the complete information of the listed media practitioners,” he said in a virtual press conference together with Health Minister Dato Sri Dr Adham Baba via Zoom today.
Khairy also said the decision was in line with wider efforts to protect those who are on the frontlines including teachers and media practitioners. — DayakDaily
