57yo missing woman in Padawan found safe after 3-day search

KUCHING, Dec 8: A 57-year-old woman who went missing in Kampung Singaie/Simpok, Jalan Padawan, was found safe in a garden in Kampung Mundai after a three-day search-and-rescue (SAR) operation.

Aron Rajak was reported missing after leaving her home at about 12.30pm on Saturday (Dec 6). She was last seen wearing a white singlet and sarong and is known to have a history of mental health issues.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), personnel from Siburan Fire Station, supported by police, the Kampung Simpok Volunteer Firefighting Unit and residents, launched an extensive search covering a two-kilometre radius around her garden.

“Upon receiving the report, our team immediately mobilised to the location and coordinated closely with the police and local volunteers to cover all possible areas,” said the department in a report.

At 9.54am today, Aron was found in a garden by a resident of Kampung Mundai, roughly 2.2km from the base of operations.

“We are relieved to confirm that she was found safe and unharmed. She was promptly handed over to the emergency medical team for further assessment,” said the report.
