KUCHING, Sept 5: A 55-year-old man has gone missing while looking for wood at Jalan Airport, Tanjung Manis, yesterday (Sept 4).
According to a press release by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, the man, identified as Affendi Morsidi, was reported to have left his house at 11am to look for firewood in the woods nearby.
“The victim’s family soon realised he was missing and found his motorcycle near the woods. At 6.50pm, they made a police report,” it said.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation was mounted that same day, with personnel arriving at the location at 7.06pm and the operation being carried out within a 1km radius.
However, the operation was stopped at 9.22pm and continued at 8am today. — DayakDaily
