SRI AMAN, March 27: A 54-year-old man died after he was found trapped in his stone-laden truck following an accident at a quarry in Engkilili last night (March 26).
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sri Aman responded to the emergency at 6.52pm and swiftly dispatched a team of firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters assessed the situation and found the unconscious lorry driver pinned inside the truck.
With the assistance of an excavator to clear the pile of stones, they used specialised rescue tools to extricate the victim.
Paramedics from the Ministry of Health later pronounced him dead at the scene. His remains were handed over to the police for further action.
The operation concluded at 9pm after ensuring the safety of the site. — DayakDaily
