TATAU, Sept 7: A 53-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving collided with a truck loaded with oil palms near Jalan Simpang Pasar Lama here.
In a statement today, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said the Tatau Station firefighters received a distress call at 11.42am today and promptly arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered the victim in an unconscious state while trapped in the driver’s seat.

It was ascertained that the victim had sustained head injuries and paramedics from the Ministry of Health confirmed his death at the scene of the accident.
Subsequently, the deceased’s body was handed over to the police for the necessary procedures. — DayakDaily
