LUNDU, Sept 15: Fifty-one Spektra Permata (RSP) houses fully funded by the Sarawak government have been built in the Tanjong Datu constituency.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said the initiative was the brainchild of the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to provide housing for the low-income group (B40).

“This initiative was announced by the Premier of Sarawak on Feb 15, 2017, with 26 housing units in Sematan and 25 units in Lundu.

“It was implemented by Sarawak Housing Development Corporation (HDC) through the Village Expansion Scheme (SPK) and Resettlement Scheme (SPS) under the Land and Survey Department (JTS),” he said during a briefing on RSP Development Programme organised by HDC here recently.

According to him, residents who are eligible to apply are those who were allocated lots by JTS, and aged 18 to 65.

“For applicants aged 50 and above, a second generation joint loan is required whether married, single mother or single father with an income between RM1,500 to RM6,000,” he said.

In the same ceremony, Azizul presented Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants to seven recipients amounting to RM17,000.

He also presented donations to five mosques amounting to RM15,000 and seven surau amounting to RM10,500 together with Lundu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIL).

Also present was Lundu District Officer Awang Yusup Awang Mostapha. — DayakDaily
