50 ‘asnaf’ from Sibu receive ‘korban’ meat donation

KUCHING, July 11: A total of 50 “asnaf” (less fortunate) from the Nangka and Dudong State constituencies have received beef donations in conjunction with the Hari Raya Qurban 1443H/2022M celebration organised by the Sibu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (Lakis) at the Al-Qadim Mosque in Sibu today.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg presented the meat to 20 recipients.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (Higher Education and Innovation) and Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee, Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, Sibu Division Resident Wong Hee Sieng, and Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce.


Earlier, Abang Johari, along with Dr Annuar and other guests, participated in a symbolic butchering of the meat.

The Premier of Sarawak and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, are scheduled to officiate at the Al-Qadim Mosque in Sibu in the evening. — DayakDaily
