KUCHING, Dec 18: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) has announced a five per cent dividend and 0.5 per cent bonus for Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) for 2019.
According to PNB chairman Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz, it will involve a total payout of RM9 billion to more than 10 million unit holders.
This is the lowest dividend and bonus declared since ASB’s inception in March 1978. Last year, the dividend was 6.5 sen and a bonus of 0.5 sen.
Zeti was reported to have said the low dividend and bonus was due to a challenging economic environment. — DayakDaily
