5 injured in three-vehicle collision along Jalan Pan Borneo Miri-Bintulu

MIRI, June 3: A three-vehicle collision near Simpang Alambumi along Jalan Pan Borneo Miri-Bintulu this afternoon has left five individuals injured.

According to Batu Niah Fire and Rescue (Bomba) station chief Rary Binjie, the accident involved a Toyota Hilux, a Nissan Almeera, and a Perodua Ativa.

Emergency responders were quickly mobilised to the scene to assist the injured upon responding to an emergency call at 1.12pm.

The Toyota Hilux had a woman in the front passenger seat who sustained injuries and a man who had already been removed from the vehicle by bystanders prior to the arrival of the fire brigade.

In the Nissan Almeera, one victim was also assisted by the public and removed from the vehicle. Similarly, two victims from the Perodua Ativa were also extricated by bystanders.

Upon arrival, the firefighters assessed the situation and stabilised the vehicles to ensure safety.

They then proceeded to carefully extract the injured woman from the Toyota Hilux who was handed over to Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel for further medical attention.

After ensuring all victims were safely removed, and the scene was secure, the fire brigade returned to their station. — DayakDaily
