SINGAPORE, April 16: Singapore Pools has stopped accepting bets on the 4D number ‘1505’ following the announcement that Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will step down as the country’s leader on May 15.
According to The Straits Times, the gambling company stopped accepting bets on the number on April 15 as it has been sold out for the April 17, April 20, and April 21 draws.
An employee of Singapore Pools’ Toa Payoh Lorong 1 outlet told the news portal that the number was sold out by 4.30pm for Wednesday’s draw (April 17), with some betting hundreds on it.
Previously, it was reported that Singapore Pools had set a quota on the number of bets sold for each 4D number.
Yesterday (April 15), the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced the date for the handover of leadership.
Lee will hand over the position of prime minister to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who will be the country’s fourth leader.
The handover is a key detail in Singapore’s long-planned leadership from the third-generation to the fourth-generation (4G) political team.
Wong has been the presumptive next prime minister since April 2022, when his peers picked him as the leader of the People’s Action Party’s 4G team. — DayakDaily
