49yo Indonesian man missing, suspected crocodile attack while fishing near Asean bridge

MIRI, Dec 19: A 49-year-old Indonesian man is missing and feared to have been mauled by a crocodile while fishing near the Asean Bridge in Kuala Baram, Lutong, earlier today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Lutong received the emergency call at 4.50pm and promptly dispatched a team of firefighters to the scene.

At the time of the incident, the victim was reported to be wearing a blue singlet.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation was immediately launched, with firefighters combing a one-kilometre radius around the area where the incident occurred.

However, as of 8pm, the victim has yet to be located.
