KUCHING, Feb 28: A total of 49 primary and secondary schools in Sarikei have been recognised with awards for their commitment and efforts in developing future generations.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Repok assemblyman Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii said the awards also serve as recognition for the contributions and dedication of members of the public service consisting of teachers, officers and support staff members under the Sarikei District Education Department (PPD Sarikei).

“This is very much in line with the government’s aspiration to achieve world class education standards and further support the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) aspiration through the National Education Blueprint (PPPM) 2015-2025,” he said during the Sarikei District Education Office (PPD) Appreciation Ceremony 2021, held in conjunction with Chinese New Year at a local hotel in Sibu on Feb 26.

During the ceremony, Huang also contributed RM10,000 to PPD Sarikei to organise annual activities. — DayakDaily
