SIBU, Jan 20: A total of 48 members and officers from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sibu IPD underwent Covid-19 screening after a colleague tested positive for the illness.
The screening was conducted at the Central Police Station yesterday.
Sibu District Police Chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted said, only members and officers from the department were instructed to undergo swab tests.
“We had decided not to take any chances but to have screening as a photographer had been found positive for Covid-19,” he said
Stanley however refuted a news report by an online portal which said that the police personnel who underwent the screening were from the Traffic and General Duties Department.
“I can confirm that the one found positive for Covid-19 is a photographer and not from our other department,” he said. — DayakDaily
