
KUCHING, July 31: An attempt to smuggle deer horns in a luggage bag into Sarawak was thwarted by authorities at Sibu Airport today.
Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) in a post on its official Facebook page revealed that its Sibu Regional Office enforcement team and Royal Malaysian Customs Department personnel have foiled the attempt.
According to SFC, a pair of deer antlers was found encased in a luggage bag.
However, the suspect was unable to present any export and import permit from the authorities.
The individual has been detained for further investigation. — DayakDaily
