SARIKEI, May 26: A 42-year-old man was crushed to death after he became trapped under an excavator at Jalan Pakan Wak in Pakan this morning.
Sia Pik Kiong, who was clearing an oil palm plantation failed to return home from work yesterday.
This prompted his family members to conduct a search where they subsequently found him under the excavator, and contacted the police.
Bintangor fire station received an alert from Julau police headquarters on the discovery at 12.15am.
A team of firefighters led by PBK II Mohmad Mahmud rushed to the scene, located some 62km away.
Using shovels and a hoe, they successfully removed the victim and handed over the remains to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
