BINTULU, March 20: A 41-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a tree at Jalan Abang Galau this morning.
Irwan Hamdan died at the scene.
State Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the tragedy occurred when Irwan was trying to negotiate a sharp around 10am.
“The motorcyclist was killed on the spot. He was flung off his vehicle (a Yamaha Y15ZR) and landed near a tree,” said Alexson.
The body was later taken to Bintulu Hospital for a post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
