KUCHING, Dec 17: Four individuals aged 18 to 19 were arrested by police for doing ‘superman’ and ‘wheelie’ stunts on the road during ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ yesterday (Dec 16).
The operation was held between 8pm last night until 4.15am today, and conducted along Jalan Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Rahman Yakub in Kuching.
Kuching district acting chief Supt Merbin Lisa said the four suspects could have endangered themselves and other road users.
“All four suspects are being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and all their motorcycles were seized for further investigation,” he said in a statement today.
On the same note, Merbin said during the operation, police issued a total of 24 summonses involving various offences, and 43 vehicles and 47 individuals were inspected.
“Among the offenses are those related to licence plates, no side mirrors and illegal vehicle modifications, and many others,” he added. — DayakDaily
