4 new Covid-19 fatalities push Sarawak’s death toll to 1,662

KUCHING, March 20: The cumulative number of Covid-19 fatalities in Sarawak rose to 1,662 with four new deaths reported today.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the four deaths occurred between March 16 and 18, in Bintulu, Sibu, Mukah, and Serian.


The victims, aged 60 to 82, all had comorbidities and medical histories such as hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and cancer.

Among the four, the male victim in Mukah was categorised as a brought-in-dead (BID) case as his body was brought to the Mukah Hospital.

Meanwhile, Sarawak reported zero new clusters today while the DTI Semuja 3 Cluster had two new infections.
