According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, preliminary investigations revealed that prior to the attack, the four suspects had booked the driver via a taxi services application. However, they had performed a last-minute cancellation, despite the driver having arrived at their location to pick them up.

Both parties got into an argument over the cancellation charges.

Frustrated, the four suspects began attacking the driver in his late 30’s using glass bottles.

They fled the scene, when the driver fell unconscious.

The injuried driver was rushed to Miri Hopital by members of the public who found him lying unconscious on the road. — DayakDaily
