4 areas in Kuching, Sarikei and Pakan under EMCO from April 30 to May 13

KUCHING, April 30: State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has announced the enforcement of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in four areas in Kuching, Sarikei and Pakan starting April 30 until May 13, 2021.

SDMC in a press statement today said the affected areas are Rh Rampai Sg Anyit Selangan and Rh Chan Minggat, Sg Kes in Sarikei; Rh Payau Emperan Datuk, Sg Pinang in Pakan and Kampung Sagah in Kuching.

The three districts are currently among 20 other districts in the State with the red zone status of Covid-19 as of today.


Meanwhile, SDMC said Julau turned into a red zone district today after recording three new infection cases, while Belaga, Kabong and Marudi statuses improved.

The statement noted, Julau recorded a total of 43 infection cases in the past 14 days, bringing the total number of districts with the red zone status to 23 districts.

Belaga sees some improvement after only 36 infection cases were recorded in the past two weeks, returning the district to the orange zone status.

Both Kabong and Marudi also return to yellow status from the orange zone status as both districts recorded a total of 17 and 20 infection cases respectively in the past fortnight.

As of today, the 23 districts with the red zone status are namely Sri Aman, Julau, Matu, Lundu, Pakan, Song, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu, while Belaga, Tanjung Manis, Sebauh, Bau and Betong are in the orange zone status.

Eleven other districts namely Kabong, Marudi, Telang Usan, Lawas, Asajaya, Pusa, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Tebedu, and Limbang are in the yellow zone status and only Simunjan is left as the green zone of Covid-19. — DayakDaily
