39yo woman among 23 Covid-19 deaths, 10 BIDs in Sarawak today

KUCHING, Oct 27: A 39-year-old woman who had obesity from Mukah was among the 23 Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak today.

Among the 23 deaths, there were also 10 cases of brought-in-dead (BID).

According to a report from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the 23 Covid-19 patients passed away between Oct 14 and Oct 26.


On Oct 14, one death was reported involving a 87-year-old man from Betong who had hypertension and the victim was also one of the BID cases.

Subsequently on Oct 17, two Covid-19 deaths were reported. The first involved a 55-year-old woman from Sarikei who had hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia who was BID and an 81-year-old woman from Samarahan who had hypertension and stroke.

One death was recorded on Oct 20 involving a 65-year-old man from Sibu who had hypertension and was a BID.

On Oct 21, two deaths were reported involving a 49-year-old man who had asthma and a 62-year-old man, whereby both of them were from Bintulu and were also BIDs.

On Oct 22, four Covid-19 deaths reported. The first involved a 64-year-old woman from Miri who had hypertension, the second involved a 82-year-old woman also from Miri who had lung and chronic kidney diseases, the third, a 85-year-old man from Sarikei who had hypertension, diabetes, heart and chronic kidney diseases and the fourth, a 70-year-old man from Sibu who was BID and had hypertension and dyslipidemia.

Three Covid-19 deaths were reported each on Oct 23, Oct 24 and Oct 25.

The deaths on Oct 23 involved a 76-year-old man from Sibu who had hypertension and heart disease, a 63-year-old BID man from Kuching who had hypertension, diabetes and heart disease and a 71-year-old woman from Sibu who had diabetes and heart disease.

The deaths on Oct 24 were a 85-year-old BID woman from Kuching who had hypertension, a 58-year-old man from Miri who had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, chronic kidney disease and a 73-year-old BID woman from Sarikei who had hypertension, diabetes and asthma.

The Covid-19 patients who passed away on Oct 25 were a 47-year-old BID from Kuching who had diabetes, a 51-year-old man from Miri who had hypertension and a 61-year-old woman from Sibu who had hypertension and asthma.

There were four Covid-19 deaths reported on Oct 26; a 50-year-old man from Miri who had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity, a 79-year-old man from Miri who had hypertension, dyslipidemia, lung disease, stroke, a 88-year-old woman from Kuching who had no medical history of illness and a 39-year-old woman from Mukah who had obesity.

With the additional 23 Covid-19 deaths reported today, the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak now stands at 1,266. — DayakDaily
