KUCHING, July 16: As many as 384 bus and van operators will receive their one-off RM600 Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) financial assistance end of this month.
Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin made the announcement today that for the first phase of application between June 3 to 18, Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS) received 408 applications and 384 were approved.
“The State Government had allocated a total of RM2.75 billion under the Bantuan Khas SarawakKu Sayang (BKSS 1.0 to 3.0). One of the items under BKSS is the One-Off financial assistance of RM600.00 to school bus and van operators.
“Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS) had received 408 applications during the first phase of application (3rd to 18th June 2020); 384 applications were approved upon checking and validation by the Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB),” said Lee in a press statement today.
Of the 384 first batch eligible recipients, 162 are from Kuching; Samarahan, 22; Serian, 9; Sarikei, 4; Sibu, 21; Kapit, 2; Bintulu, 52; Miri, 99 and Limbang, 13.
“First batch of the one-off financial assistance will bank-in directly to their registered bank account latest by the end of this month,” said Lee who is also Senadin assemblyman.
Lee said to date, there are 739 active school bus and van operators who are registered with the Sarawak CVLB.
For other eligible school bus and van driver who have not apply for the one-off assistance, they are advised to go to the Ministry of Transport, Sarawak Website (https://mot.sarawak.gov.my/) and to register directly using the Application Form (Google Form).
They may also go to the nearest Residents Offices to get the assistance to fill the online Application Form (Google Form) through the Ministry of Transport, Sarawak website at (https://mot.sarawak.gov.my/).
“All registered school bus and van operators/drivers that have not submit the application are advised to do so through online on or before July 31, 2020,” said Lee.
