KUCHING, Sept 11: A 36-year old man is feared drowned after he jumped into Sungai Tatau yesterday (Sept 10).

According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, after receiving the call regarding the incident at 11.15am today, firefighters from Bomba Tatau were deployed to the location.

Based on the chronology of events, the man was seen by his in-law jumping into the river from a nearby boat jetty at 11pm yesterday.

Although a search was conducted by family members since yesterday, the man who was last seen wearing blue jeans is yet to be found.

Firefighters, police personnel and villagers are seen at the operations control centre while the SAR is being conducted.

Following that, firefighters then initiate a joint Search and Rescue (SAR) operation together with the police and the man’s family members. — DayakDaily
