LUNDU, Sept 29: Some 36 homeowners have been allotted their respective units of Spektra Permata Housing (RSP) in Lundu and Sematan through a draw of lots held yesterday.

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Sarawak said that the lot selection draw was held following the presentation of offer letters for the affordable Spektra houses for Lundu and Sematan on July 14 conducted virtually and witnessed by Tanjong Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.

The lot selection draw for RSP Lundu was carried out in the morning at Lundu District Office, while the draw for RSP Sematan was done in the afternoon at Sematan Sub-District Office.

Both ceremonies were witnessed by officers from Lundu District Office, Sematan Sub-District Office, HDC and Mutiara Mortgage & Credit Sdn Bhd.

The RSP Lundu and Sematan, which was announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on Feb 15, 2017, is an affordable housing project initiated by the Sarawak government through HDC and Land and Survey Department to help low to middle income Sarawakians own their first home.

RSP Lundu, situated 1.5km away from Lundu town, offers 26 units built under the Kampung Lundu Expansion Scheme, which were completed in August 2020.

RSP Sematan, located 2.5km from Sematan town, on the other hand, offers 25 units built under the Kampung Sematan Expansion Scheme and were completed in October 2020.

Both types of houses are built on stilts with a floor area of 820 square feet and an estimated land area of 500 square metres for each house unit. — DayakDaily
