According to the charge sheet, Kenny was accused of obstructing a public servant in the execution of their duty during police inspection at Jalan Matang-Batu Kawa, around 10.10am on June 24.

The case facts revealed that during the incident, a team of police officers from IPD Padawan conducted a raid on a residence in Taman Exodus, Jalan Matang-Batu Kawa, detaining a man suspected of being involved in drug activities.

A subsequent inspection on the accused and his residence yielded no illegal items.

When interrogated on drug use, Chiew admitted to using methamphetamine and confessed to having the substance in his 4WD vehicle.

The accused was escorted out of the house toward his vehicle, where he claimed the drugs were stored. However, he aggressively brushed off a police officer’s hand and entered the vehicle in an attempt to flee.

Chiew started the vehicle and hit the front and rear of the police car, causing damage. However, his escape attempt was unsuccessful, and he was apprehended.

The prosecution was conducted by prosecuting officer Inspector Ammarsoffi Yusoff, while Chiew was not represented by a lawyer. — DayakDaily
