KUCHING, Sept 27: A total of 330 residents left homeless after fire razed Rh Niga Sungai Tinjar in Miri.
According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation center today, they received call regarding the incident at 12.17pm and deployed Bomba Lopeng to the location.
Firefighters have to travel about 24 kilometer to reach the location through logging road.
Operation commander PBK II Gajau Jemat who arrived at the location confirmed that the 46-doors longhouse was 100 per cent destroyed by flame.
Only one victim reported to have suffers minor injuries in the incident.
Meanwhile, after being informed of the incident, Marudi assemblyman Penguang Manggil went on the ground to meet with the victims.
During his meeting with the residents, he also presented some aid. – DayakDaily
