320 individuals arrested across Malaysia for not complying to the MCO

KUCHING, Mar 28: A total of 320 individuals have been arrested by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) throughout Malaysia for not complying with the Movement Control Order (MCO) as of March 27, 2020.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri in a press conference today said that yesterday, 116 individuals had also been detained after gathering in five different mosques for their Friday prayers.

“There were also reports on jogging activities conducted in a premises inside a closed-gated community, and all this must stop immediately.

“However, on the 11-days of the MCO, the trend has shown that the compliance rate from the public has increased to 97 per cent,” he said.

At the same time, Sabri also said there are still illegal entries through the country border.

He assured that PDRM would continue to monitor every illegal entry point throughout the country that has been identified.

Meanwhile, Sabri disclosed that a total of 2,612 out of 3,162 Malaysia from 60 countries had successfully been brought home.

He revealed that 12 commercial flights are on standby to bring another 1,988 Malaysian from India, including those stranded in Amritsar in Punjab, India.

“Malaysian citizens who are stranded in Kaherah will also be brought home, and those who are still stuck in foreign countries are advised to contact the nearest Malaysian Embassy office,” he added. —DayakDaily.
