KUCHING, Nov 2: An elderly woman, a man, and a teenager managed to escape their burning house in Taman Malihah, Matang today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations center, they received a call regarding the incident at 11.10 am, prompting Bomba Padungan and Bomba Petra Jaya to rush to the scene.
“The operation commander reported that the fire originated in the bedroom, but the victims, aged 69, 21, and 14, respectively, managed to evacuate to safety before the fire could spread,” it stated.
Subsequently, firefighters then proceeded to extinguish the flame, including contacting Sarawak Energy Berhad to cut off the electricity supply to prevent any further incidents.
“The house was 90 per cent destroyed by the fire,” it added. — DayakDaily
