KUCHING, Dec 14: Three rabies-positive cases were recorded in Kuching between Dec 9 and 13 at Mile 9, Stutong Baru and Jalan Hup Kee.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng disclosed that two of the cases occurred at RPR Mile 9, Taman Sri Jaya, and Lorong A3A Stutong Baru.
“These involved bite incidents caused by a stray dog and a pet dog respectively,” he said during his ShallWeeTalk Facebook live today.
Meanwhile, the case at Lorong 7, Jalan Hup Kee involved another stray dog.
Wee urged the public to remain vigilant as rabies cases continue to pose a threat.
“I hope everyone stays cautious and takes all necessary precautions to prevent rabies,” he advised.
The mayor’s reminder underscored the importance of responsible pet ownership and community efforts in mitigating the spread of rabies. — DayakDaily
