SIBU, July 28: Three men paid a heavy price for ignoring a coffee shop operator’s instructions not to sit together at a single table, as per the rules outlined in the standard operating procedures (SOP) of National Recovery Plan (NRP).
They were compounded RM1,500 each for violating the SOPs by sitting together at a table meant for two persons only.
Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said at about 12.35pm yesterday, an Integrated SOP Monitoring team led by ASP Kushairy Bujang was patrolling along Jalan Central when they spotted the trio dining-in at a coffee shop.
“The coffee shop operator had earlier told them not to sit together, but they disregarded his advice,” he said.
As a result of their action, the team had to issue them a compound of RM1,500 each under Regulation 17(1) the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.
Meanwhile a shop selling pre-loved clothes at the area was also compounded RM1,500 for not displaying the MySejahetera QR code check-in. ā DayakDaily
