3 foreigners arrested for car break-ins near Mile 6 supermarket

KUCHING, Sept 20: Police have arrested three foreign nationals suspected of involvement in a car break-in case that occurred near a supermarket in Mile 6 on Sept 3.

Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, in a statement today, said that following information received on the same day, a police team apprehended the male suspects at a budget hotel in the Green Hill area.

“Police also seized RM4,500 in cash, 21 pieces of Brunei-dollar banknotes, three foreign passports, a motorcycle, a car, seven mobile phones, and two motorcycle helmets,” Mohd Farhan said.

The suspects reportedly followed their victim from the bank to their parked vehicle, where they broke in to steal the money.

The suspects have been remanded to assist in investigations, which are also connected to other similar cases.

“So far, three car break-in cases with total losses amounting to RM88,600 have been solved,” he added. — DayakDaily
