4 dead in shooting incident at Kota Samarahan Air Force Camp

KUCHING, Aug 13: Four air force personnel died in a shooting incident reported this morning at the Kota Samarahan Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) guard station.

The Kota Samarahan Police Headquarters operation room was alerted at about 7.50am of the shooting incident at the entrance to the RMAF Camp.

Initial police investigation reported that the shooting involved four RMAF officers on duty at the guard station.


One of the officers was reported to have been severely wounded after being shot at the abdomen and was rushed to the Sarawak Heart Centre.

The forensic team from the police and Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) are currently on site to examine and conduct a thorough and coordinated investigation of the scene.

Police have not released further details on how the fatal shooting incident occurred.

RMAF, in a statement issued, has also urged all quarters not to speculate about the incident until police investigations have been completed.

RMAF also informed that an Investigation Board will be established to determine the cause of the shooting incident.— DayakDaily
