293 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia, only one imported

KUCHING, Oct 4: Malaysia recorded 293 new Covid-19 cases today, with 292 local transmissions and one imported case.

Ministry of Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham revealed that the 292 local transmissions involved 269 Malaysians and 23 non-Malaysians in 11 states across the country.


These states comprise Sarawak (one case), Sabah (126 cases), Labuan (five cases), Kedah (113 cases), Penang (one case), Perak (two cases), Kelantan (one case), Selangor (31 cases), Kuala Lumpur (three cases), Negeri Sembilan (two cases) and Johor (eight cases).

Thus, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases nationwide rises to 12,381, with 1,961 currently active cases which are subject to transmission.

Dr Noor Hisham also revealed via a Facebook post today, there were 67 new recoveries who have have been discharged from hospitals, increasing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 10,283.

A total of 28 cases are still receiving treatment in Intensive Care Units (ICU) with four patients currently intubated. — DayakDaily
