KUCHING, Sept 28: A 29-door longhouse in Song was destroyed in a pre-dawn fire today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 4.21am, and firefighters from the Song and Kapit stations were deployed to Rumah Austin Ikew at Jalan Song Temalat, Nanga Sungai Sipan.

Firefighters carried out extinguishing operations using a portable pump with a 200-foot hose and one nozzle, as well as a fire engine pump with a 200-foot hose and two initial attack hose lines.
Firefighters managed to control the fire by 6.33am and are now focusing on overhaul work.
