SRI AMAN, Jan 10: A fire erupts on Jan 9 (last night) at a car workshop in Taman Tiara, Jalan Brayun, resulting in the complete destruction of 23 uninsured vehicles and two insured vehicles.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency at 8.42pm and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from the Sri Aman Station to the scene.
The fire damaged 10 per cent of the building structure.
Bomba Sarawak reported that 28 vehicles were affected, with 23 uninsured vehicles and two insured ones completely destroyed. Three other insured vehicles incurred varying degrees of damage.
Firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control and extinguished it.
Following thorough inspections to ensure the absence of any potential ignition sources and confirming the safety of the location, the firefighting team concluded their operation.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the loss are currently under investigation. — DayakDaily
