SIBU, March 15: A total of 28 pupils entering Primary 1 have received donations of school bags and stationery from the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Bukit Assek branch.
Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng handed over the items to recipients at the SUPP Bukit Assek service centre here on Tuesday (March 14).
The assistance was given to students from low-income families as well as parents or guardians who are registered voters under the Bukit Assek constituency.
According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Chieng expressed hope during the handover that the assistance could ease the burden of parents or guardians when providing study materials for their children.
Also present at the handover was SUPP Bukit Assek branch chairman Dato Chieng Buong Toon. — DayakDaily
